Name: Nathan Lemieux
Location: Montreal, Canada
Majoring in sculpture
BFA Concordia University
Information:
Nathan created his piece ‘A Ton of Automatons’ for an
exhibition in the VAV Gallery in April 2008. While
making this piece, he used over 1000 meters of
galvanized steel wire in different calibers. He then
wound these into neurons using pliers. Afterwards, he
used 8 yards of cotton fabric which he cut into strips and
dipped into Paverpol. He finally tied these strips into
knots with wire, forming a 75 cm sphere!

Location: Weston, FL
Classes:
Information:
Mike created this Jimi Hendrix-inspired piece during a
two day workshop in Montreal, Canada. He applied
artstone to a canvas to create a textured background,
and then sculpted clay to create an electric guitar. After
placing these onto the canvas, he gave the piece a
finishing touch by dry brushing with yellow and purple
metallic colors. Mike’s creation is now displayed in his
room in Miami, FL.
